Scrum Product Owner Certified (SPOC®) is an official SCRUMstudy certification route available through RDE’s VMEdu Authorised Training Partner access. It is designed for professionals who work with stakeholders, products, requirements, value delivery and prioritisation within Scrum environments.
What the preparation covers
The learning develops understanding of Product Owner responsibilities, product vision, stakeholder engagement, prioritisation, value delivery, acceptance criteria and effective collaboration with the Scrum Team. Candidates prepare using the official learning package associated with the current SPOC® certification route.
Exam and certification
RDE can assign candidates through its authorised VMEdu partner portal. The assigned route includes official training materials and the applicable certification examination. The certification is issued by SCRUMstudy after the candidate successfully satisfies the examination requirements. Course access is provided for up to 180 days under the current partner package.
Who this route is for
This route is suitable for Product Owners, Business Analysts, product professionals, delivery practitioners and people who regularly interface with business stakeholders in Scrum-based delivery.
Entry guidance
There is no formal prerequisite. Previous SDC or SMC study can help you prepare.
Practical preparation
Draft a product vision, prioritise a sample backlog and write acceptance criteria. Practise explaining trade-offs to stakeholders and connecting requirements to business value. These are suggested practice activities, rather than additional issuer prerequisites.
Assessment format
The current SPOC assessment is an online, unproctored multiple-choice exam with 140 questions and 180 minutes. Confirm the current booking instructions when your partner access is assigned.
Validity and renewal
SCRUMstudy lists a three-year recertification cycle. Its published options include the relevant recertification exam or another certification from the same issuer. Check the current policy before arranging renewal. The 180-day learning-access period is separate from credential validity.
Career development
Use the credential alongside practical evidence and relevant experience. It can support a development conversation with employers, but it does not guarantee a role, salary or promotion.
