RDE Digital Employment Accelerator

RDE Digital Employment Accelerator

RDE Digital Employment Accelerator

Six weeks • Monday to Friday • 180 productive hours

Build skills, produce evidence and move towards digital employment

An intensive, employment-focused programme for eligible candidates referred through approved Jobcentre Plus, Universal Credit, commissioner or partner routes. Build practical digital capability, complete employer-style work and prepare for genuine junior opportunities.

Diagnose, develop, demonstrate and progress

Turn transferable strengths into job-ready evidence

The Accelerator combines diagnostic assessment, multifaceted digital training, pathway specialisation, practical project work and structured employment preparation.

It is designed for candidates seeking junior digital, data, business, project, administration and operations opportunities. Your first week identifies aptitude, transferable strengths, digital capability and realistic target roles before you build evidence against those requirements.

Employment activity begins in Week 1 and continues throughout the programme. By completion, you will have a clearer role direction, practical work to discuss, an organised candidate evidence pack and a 180-Day Employment Progression Plan.

Each week contributes 30 productive hours. The timetable may flex around genuine employer interviews, work experience or recruitment events.

Referral, suitability and access

Confirm the right route before the programme begins

Places may be available through approved Jobcentre Plus, Universal Credit, commissioner or partner referral routes when commissioned and open.

Referral partners assess Functional Skills readiness before referral. RDE then focuses on occupational, digital and employment capability, including diagnostic assessment and pathway fit. Current eligibility, cohort availability and funding arrangements must be confirmed for each delivery cycle.

A structured working day

Combine guided learning with evidence, employment and review

The programme runs Monday to Friday, normally 09:30 to 16:30, with six productive hours per day and a one-hour lunch break.

  1. Stand upReview objectives, delivery priorities, vacancies, applications or the employment pipeline.
  2. LearnDevelop concepts and techniques through demonstrations, discussion and guided activities.

Accelerated employer challenge

Demonstrate capability through controlled practical work

Work from a defined brief to clarify the problem, gather requirements, review processes or data, compare options and produce pathway-specific recommendations. Depending on commissioning, this may be an employer-linked challenge, controlled simulation or genuine work-experience activity.

You will record your individual contribution, respond to feedback, quality-assure the final evidence and convert the experience into strong examples for applications and interviews.

  • Briefing and team-role allocation during Week 3
  • Investigation, analysis and delivery sprint during Week 4
  • Quality assurance and stakeholder presentation during Week 5
  • Individual evidence suitable for portfolios and interviews

Employment support from day one

Build a visible pipeline from learning to work

Progress is measured through evidence, applications, interview preparation, employer engagement and recorded next actions, not simply course attendance.

Mentoring and structured review help you use feedback, strengthen professional behaviours and stay focused on realistic opportunities. Genuine recruitment events are recorded separately from mock interview preparation, and the timetable may flex around live opportunities.

Independent programme information

Confirm current referral, funding and cohort arrangements

RDE is an independent training provider and is not part of, or an authorised representative of, the Department for Work and Pensions or Jobcentre Plus. Cohort availability, commissioning, eligibility, funding, referral criteria, project arrangements, recruitment activity and delivery content may change. A referral does not guarantee a funded place, and programme completion does not guarantee employment.

Learners can register their interest. Referral partners and commissioners can contact RDE to confirm current cohorts, suitability checks and delivery arrangements.
